Hello my friends! I hope April is treating you well. The temperature in Arizona is steadily rising, and I must admit I am not ready to let go of the beautiful winter and spring we’ve had here. 

Nevertheless, rain or shine the show must go on! So here is your first April Update!

Backerkit

Looks like our BackerKit surveys are about 85% complete, only a handful still to go. If you haven’t done it yet, make sure you do before the end of June at the latest, but if you all get them done early we can lock things up and get production going even sooner! 

Art

I am so thrilled to share with you the first piece of full-color art that will go into the front of the Deluxe Hardcovers of TARGET. This piece is by the amazing Shayndl, and she has been just lovely to work with. I can’t wait to see what she does for the other two!

Lex and Robyn look so lovely!! I’m so happy with how this turned out.

In other art news, the awesome Anna McEwan has started work on the new cover art for SUMMON, and I’m hoping we’ll be able to share some progress on that with you in the coming weeks! 

Content

I’m pleased to say that CLEVER is now with an editor to see what the damage is on Draft Zero. Depending on how much work it’s gonna take to get it into shape, I’m hoping (fingers crossed) to have it ready for betas by the end of April. Or at least, a solid chunk of it. If it needs more work, it might have to be the end of May. 

Meanwhile, I’ve started work on your bonus short stories, finalizing the Merlin novelette, and (gasp) outlining for Book Four: DECEIT. I’ll share my progress on those as we move forward!

Backerkit + CLEVER Update!

Hey y’all! I hope springtime is treating you well no matter where you’re at!

Backerkit

First off, you’re doing GREAT on your backer surveys! We’re about 75% on everyone completing them. If you finish them before the deadline (June 30) I’ll let you know and we can start processing those payments. Again, don’t worry, I’ll give you plenty of warning.

Project Progress

Guess what I did today 👀

That’s right, the first draft of CLEVER is finally (finally) completed! It almost doesn’t feel real, and I have a lot of complex feelings about it (which I went into over on Discord if you want to see)  but the overwhelming feeling is that I’m so proud of this book. I love these characters and I cannot wait to share their journeys with you.

Art Update

In cover news, the amazing Anna McEwan will soon be getting started on the cover for book two! I’ll be sure to share progress with you here when we have it.

I’m also super excited to announce the artist who will be doing the full-color interior art pieces (one for each book… maybe more…) and that is the lovely Shayndl! Check out her work on Instagram, and make sure to give both her and Anna support where you can! They’re both so talented and I’m excited to work with them.

Whew!

I think that’s everything for now! CLEVER will be off soon to my very patient editor/critique partner/best friend Gina Denny, and after a round (or many) of revisions will go to betas and sensitivity readers. Again, I’ll keep you updated on the progress as we go.
